I can understand the feeling, but I actually don't mind it being long-form. It really hammers home just how long, how insidious, and how creatively (for lack of a better phrase) were Purdue's efforts to keep the whole thing going. There's a great Twitter from one of the writers that shows how much of what is on screen, no matter how unbelievable, comes from direct documentation, and it's shocking every week to see what else they can come up with.

Was Purdue clever, or was it just that every other system - Congress, the DEA, all of 'em - was a failure?

The Richard Sackler of Dopesick I think is a sociopath, no question, but 'clever'... you don't have to be especially smart to just give the FDA dude a $400k job to get the FDA label you want, etc. I'm finding the series more of an indictment of the entities that failed to stop Purdue, rather than showing how good Purdue was at business-ing. 

But I am loving the weekly drops, because then I hit up Google after to read what's true and what's fiction from each episode.
