Double God Bless Brooke Shields (Wonderful Town NOT at TKTS TONIGHT!)

For the first time in a long time, Wonderful Town was NOT up at TKTS! Celebrate the further rejuvination of this wonderful musical. Thank goodness for the good press Brooke has gotten this week. Heres to this weeks grosses!

Well...I hate to burst your bubble (and it has been going off the boards pretty quickly on the weekends)...but there was no show tonight. Because of pre-arranged schedule conflicts for Brooke, Linda went on yesterday evening, this afternoon, and Brooke will be back tomorrow. They'll do two shows Sunday to make up.

I thought she was lovely in the show too, but unfortunately there was no show to be at TKTS at all tonight!

If Shields really does end up saving the show, good for her. She really seems to care about this job, rather than just regarding it as "slumming" or a way to raise her profile.

I agree--she's apparently been a real morale booster for the cast. Say what you will about her talents (and you won't catch me disparaging them b/c Ruth IS a great role for her!) she's undoubtedly dedicated. Updated On: 10/20/04 at 10:36 PM

Isn't the part written with a range of like four notes? if those four notes are in Brooke's range, shes got the part all set, at least vocally.

Yup. Ruth isn't a big singer's part. If Shields succeeds big time, she can keep specializing in roles like that. They do exist.

I'm happy for Brooke. Shes wowing the critics with her Ruth. And I can't wait to see her in the show.

She does have the comedy timing. sure Suddenly Susan was a horrific show but she did have some great comedy bits when it was just her

i *love* (not) the way timote316 in one full breath manages to smack brooke across the face with that insult and then wants to make up for it by wishing her luck. pick a side and stick to it.
