Doug Hodge back to La Cage to Close it

Douglas Hodge and Denis Lawson will return to La Cage Aux Folles taking over John Barrowman and Simon Burke. They will go into the show for 4 weeks and close the West End production. Douglas will then headline the show for the New York transfer.

Shame the show will close - but look at what a superb run it has had.

The Playhouse (well, ATG) also want The Playhouse to get Sweet Charity.

Hodge's deleted blog still cached -

"so u heard it here first! just agreed to come back to close la cage. I'll open december first and play the whole month. so third christmas in a row in stockings! or.. third christmas stocking in a row.. or.. Just trying to get the fabulous denis on board too. dunno if bookings are open yet but see you there for the party! cant wait. meanwhile im probably four weeks away from finishing a new album of songs which im going to call NIGHTBUS. all v different from Albin - but a gentle little project of intimate songs - which im really proud of. see you at the playhouse!"

Great news that they're both back-sad this is closing though and sad I probably wont get to see these two before it does-oh well time to start saving for a New York trip!
