Doug, who was so impressive in THRILL ME! Off B'wy, has been cast in the ensemble of LES MIS. He also understudies Marius.
I'd love to see the show when Doug goes on as Marius.
Great news! Good for him

I guess that means he's not continuing to Broadway with TIMES. I was really hoping to see him in that! But I thrilled he was cast in something else, I'm a huge fan

Right now Doug is in THE HUMAN COMEDY up in Barrington.

OMG, OMG!! Darn he won't be in TIMES but I wish I can see him as Marius! At least I'll see him on stage as an ensemble. He is a very talented performer!!
Why they didn't cast him as principle though. He is a part Hawaiian, isn't he? (as Cameron wants to stick with multi racial cast, which is a dumb concept. I'd say cast the most talented people regardless of the race!)

Yay for Doug! He's a great guy. I know he'll be great in Les Mis.

Doug is Hawaiin in the fact that he was born and raised in Hawaii. However, he is Caucasian, not Asian.
While we're on the topic of Mis understudies, someone mentioned that Nicki Renee Daniels (Aida, Lestat) was in the ensemble and an understudy. Anyone know for which part?
Bumping because I'm interested in finding out about the ensemble, too. :)
The only ones I've heard besides Kreeger are Daniel Bogart, Marissa McGowan, and Sara Chase.

I don't know if all of this understudy talk is official, but I'm told that Nikki Rene Daniels will understudy Daphne Rubin-Vega's Fantine...anybody hear any other understudy rumors? I really hope they continue to open the floodgates to performers like Nikki Rene who didn't perform in the prior Broadway company or on the tour...it's always exciting to get some fresh talent into a show that's been around for a while.
Oh, wow!
I'd LOVE to see Nikki as Fantine.
I wonder if she'll be the Factory Girl. She could be a fun saucy wench in that role.
Completely agree with you on the fresh talent sentiment. I think it's good there seems to be a nice mix of vets and newbies. (Even just looking at the principals.)

LizzieCurry: It would make sense if Nikki Rene Daniels played the Factory Girl, as that ensemble track is typically held by an actress who is also the first cover for Fantine. That is, assuming that everything works according to standard protocol in the new production.
Yep, that's why I specified.
The other Fantine understudy track is "Madeleine," the whore with lots of black lace and a red feather in Look Down. (She has less to do!)
I had heard that Sara Jean Ford would be understudying Cosette, but I guess she won't be, now that she'll be Luisa in "The Fantasticks".
It seems you're right; this page used to say she was going to be in the cast, but not anymore.

True, Lizzie, Madaleine has less to do.
But what can beat lyrics like this:
Listen you old bat...
Crazy bloody witch...
'Least I give me customers
Some pleasure in return!
He's a cool guy.
