The Most Hated Best Musical Ever needs to be stopped!
This show needs to close. Those kiddies need to go back to school. Broadway needs to be cured of this show!
Ok?

wait...didn't this thread already happen?
Yeah, okay, it's the most hated musical ever...and that's why the New York Times called it "haunting", "electrifying", and said that "the voyage back is a deeply rewarding one."
These are direct quotes. It wouldn't have won that many Tony Awards if it was the most hated musical ever. Maybe you don't like it, and you're intitled to your opinion, but many people think it's a great show and many people other than young people. If you don't like the show, don't see it, that doesn't mean that Broadway needs to be "cured" of it.

they fell onto the hype wagon. The reviewer must have already made up his mind about the show before he saw it. This was due to hype. Of course he didnt do it on PURPOSE. However, he heard enough hype that he liked it.
Your sarcasm isn't even a little bit funny anymore. Down with all new Spring Awakening threads, both ironic and sincere.

pretty sure you clicked on this thread. no body made you read it. how about he promises to preten SA doesn't exist and you pretend SA threads don't.
"pretty sure you clicked on this thread. no body made you read it..."
It's one thing when one offers CONSTRUCTIVE criticism on a show and actually makes valid points as to why he or she didn't like a show. But to blatently come out and say you "hated" something without any real reasons just makes you look stupid, and in this case, a real idiot.
Of course when someone makes these idiotic threads, what person isn't going to say something in defense unless the accused actually makes valid points and doesn't sound like a 10-year-old?

All I want to say is how much I loved Spring Awakening - I love the cast, the energy, the score, the design elements... it was a great night in the theater and I'm so glad it has been so successful!! I haven't understood the amount of hatred this show has engendered by its detractors - it has been so vitriolic and there seems to be something else entirely behind it - perhaps jealousy? I can't figure it out. There are shows I dislike that others love, but I always understand it has more to do with me than the show..

ok spring awakening isn't my cup of tea but you are right. and i don't hate it cause hate is another form of love. so i will just say that for whatever reason i did not feel much when i saw it. the cast is tallented, the show is different, and i am glad it exists. I am just indifferent. live and let live, i suppose.
god speed sring awakening
::gets off his high horse::
sorry to the SA fans who i annoyed.
DirtyRottenMember, I wasn't trying to accuse you or anything. I just used your quote.
It is interesting how this show inspires such passionate responses whether it is love or hate. In my modern dance class, we discussed the difference between art and entertainment and though I'm not gonna go digging through my notes at 2:25 AM, I remember my teacher saying something about how art does its job if it makes you feel something whether it is love or hate. So no matter what, after all this, I do have to say that Spring Awakening is good art because it definately brought these strong feelings out in everyone.
