Here is the issue, as I see it and I truly think any reputable company might view this situation also.
If I had a newly formed record company. Lots of money has been put up to form this company, like any other business. The last thing I want is to have my new venture/project get off on shakey ground or have any
clients in question on my roster. As an agent, if one of my clients were accused of serious wrong doing and details were still "up in the air", and heavily publicized, I would immediately cease requests to book him/her. I would pull all advertising and marketing, regardless of any financial loss.
Represetation of clients becomes
your reputation as a company. You simply can't take the risk. I know I wouldn't. Futhermore, if my client was in question or under investigation, I would expect him/her to accept my position and graciously step down as a mattter of professional ethics.
That's just how I run my business.
