Posted: 7/27/05 at 9:54amI'll say it once, I'll say it again: It shouldn't matter what the critics and producerssay, it should be what the fans say. I loved that musical to no end. I unfortunately only saw it in previews. What I remember most, beside the incredible songs, was the cast. They were superb! Heck, I don't think any of them were really stuck up when I met them. I had the supporting cast autograph my Playbill and Tom and Melissa were even niceenough when i asked to personalize the autographs on my poster.

One of my all time favorite songs "The Master's Song" is really slowed down, and "If I Could Fly" is not on it. But hey, I will still buy the CD when it comes out. It was great fun to watch.

Posted: 7/27/05 at 1:12pmThe first time I saw dracula, I absoulutely hated it. I thought it was boring. I didn't care about what was going on. I didn't think any of the songs were memorable. Then, my friend told me to give it another chance. I saw it 3 more times after that. There was so much more to Dracula The Musical than people thought. Moments of the show were truly spectactular. It remains one of my favorites. I love it.

The show ran through Broadway with potential. No one ever fixed it so it could live up to its potential.
Wildhorn worked for many, many years on J&H. I feel he should have worked longer on Dracula.

I completely disagree with the term spectacle. I didn't really think that there was anything that spectacular about the shows design at all. It was a very dark show (dim lighting), the over-hyped set was nothing more than a few large pieces and some moving legs, and the music was provided by a bunch of keyboards. Now if you want to call that a spectacle, then by all means go for it, but it was a very dimly lit and boring one in that case.....Could have been SOOO much better!
