So yesterday I stood on the TKTS line, and didn't know what I wanted to see. Dracula was on the board, so I thought that it might be interesting to see. So:
Tom Hewitt (Dracula)- wow. His performance gave me chills. He played Dracula so well that it actually scared me. His voice is beautiful, and his acting was amazing!! He was definitely one of the best actors in the show.
Melissa Errico (Mina)- she was very good. I loved her voice, but she was losing it by the second act (the songs are very high- I totally see why she was losing it). She gave a very good performance.
Kelli O'Hara (Lucy)- she was very creepy. When she had her scenes with Dracula, they were VERY good. She also has a very good voice.
Darren Ritchie (Jonathan)- his performance was just okay. There was nothing incredible about it, but it was okay overall. He has a beautiful voice, though.
Don Stephenson (Renfield)- at first, he annoyed me. But as the show went on, he delivered a beautiful performance. He played crazy amazingly.
Chris Hoch (Arthur)- there's not much to say about his performance. His voice was pretty good, his acting was good, he was all around good.
Shonn Wiley (Jack)- he was my favorite character in the show. He was amzingly funny, and he had a great stage presence. He was definitely one of the best on stage.
Bart Shatto (Quincey)- he was great. He acted the part really well, and he had a beautiful voice.
Jennifer Foote, Elizabeth Loyacano, and Melissa Fagan (Vampires 1,2, and 3)- these 3 women creeped me out. Every time they came flying on stage, they scared me. I thought they were really great.
Stephen McKinley Henderson (Profesor Van Helsing)- he was okay. I liked the way he did all the chanting. VERY creepy.
The set- omg, wow. DRACULA had the most unique set I've ever seen. If it doesn't win the Tony for best scenery, then there's a problem. It was so well designed!! It's my new favorite set. Also, the special effects, lighting, and direction were all VERY good. This show had great effects with all the lights and the flying... amazing!!
The music- I heard traces of Jekyll and Hyde and Scarlet Pimpernel in certain songs. The score wasn't ver memorable- I can't remember a single song!! Though I do remember that I really liked the 1st Act finale "Life After Life". It was VERY good!!
Overall, I thought the show was okay. The book was a little weak, and the ending was kind of dull, but the set and the special effects and the acting made up for it. I think this show might do pretty well.

Well, I'm glad you liked it 'okay'. I personally loved Darren Ritchie in the show--his 'Before the Summer Ends' made me SOB.
Life After Life is an awesome song. Beware if you dwl it from the show website--it's ADDICTIVE! I listened to it for probably 3 hours last night... hehehehehe I <3 Dracula!
im glad you kind liked it, I also LOVED Tom Hewitts performance, I thought he was the best part of the show. I agree that the songs were just not memorable, but I too really liked "Life After Life" I hope it lasts a little while though , I'd like to see it again.
