It surprises me that Lisa Howard-ISHBY was nominated over Kelli O'Hara-K&I?
I thought her song was awful and her performance was nothing special at all and the producers decided to do that same number on the Tony awards?
WHY...the show was not even nominated!?

"These awards lost all credibility when Kelli didn't even get a nomination. "
I convinced myself she somehow wasn't eligible cause it was so weird she didn't get nominated...

And despite the fact that it only got two nominations, King and I still won Best Revival! Next stop, the Tony.
I'm so glad that Hamilton won, especially because it is an Off-Broadway show. Too often the Drama Desks simply give Best Musical to their favorite Broadway musical, at the expense of arguably superior Off-Broadway shows. For example, last year Gentleman's Guide beat Fun Home, whereas if Fun Home had opened straight to Broadway that season I have no doubt that it would have won.

Am I the only one who thought they gave out way to many "special awards"? One or two is fine, but they gave away like 4 or 5 special awards! Come one!
Also, did anyone else find it a tad racist that they played kung fu fighting as that asian guy walked out? Or was there some logical connection that I missed?

David Henry Hwang wrote a play called KUNG FU, if that's the Asian guy you're referring to.

I am very glad K. Todd Freeman won last night. I thought his performance was terrific so it's nice to see him get recognized.
