So last night, one of my dreams came true. At the Broadway Divas concert in Chicago, I got to see Jodi Benson perform Part of Your World. She was simply flawless for the entire show and since she is from Rockford, IL, her loved ones were in the audience and it made for a very special performance. Debbie Gravitte did a very good rendition of Defying Gravity (with excellent orchestrations), though the orchestra gave what could only be the blandest performance of the overtures to Gypsy and West Side Story. Jan Horvath was also good, but I did not care for her Don't Cry For Me, Argentina. Overall, the woman were great and their voices blended beautifully. Can I please nominate Debbie Gravitte as either the next Mama Rose or Ursula in The Little Mermaid?
