re: Dreamgirls

I'm going to hijack this thread for something useful. What did everyone think of the C.C. in the film? I liked him in everything except "Family." I dunno, he just rubbed me the wrong way there. He was adequate the rest of the time.

re: Dreamgirls

I thought he was great & totally cute. Don't kill me for this, but something about his face -- his eyes & his smile especially -- reminded me of what Michael Jackson might've looked like had he not mucked with face via repeated nosejobs, chin implant, permanent eyeliner tattoos, etc. or suffered from vitiligo. If the cute little Michael had just grown up -- i think that's what he might've looked like.

re: Dreamgirls

His "Family" was awful...he obviously doesn't know how to act AND sing at the same time...Jamie Fox was just as bad during "Steppin' to the Bad Side", but that's attributable to bad direction as well. CC was adequate, but if he wanted to know how to sing and act at the same time, Anika Noni Rose was right there the whole time (as was Jennifer Hudson).

I couldn't stop staring at his ears... they were so pointy!

**edit**
Thank GOD someone finally gave Anika Noni Rose some credit! I LOVED her performance, and she really made me feel something for her character. I thought she was hilarious when necessary, and just pitch-perfect all around. I feel bad for how underappreciated she has been throughout the press and awards coverage of this film. In fact, I even watched the HBO special on "Dreamgirls", and Beyonce said "It was just amazing to work with such wonderful performers... Jamie... Eddie... Jennifer... Danny... it was so great!"

...WHAT ABOUT ANIKA?!!?

re: Dreamgirls

I agree completely about Anika Noni Rose, she was one of my favorite parts in the film. I would love to see more of her.

re: Dreamgirls

Anika was fabulous!

And I forget her name, but whoever played 'Michelle' was fantastic, also!

Agreed about Sharon Leal (a.k.a. Michelle... thanks WickedFan), TWSFan!

re: Dreamgirls

I loved Anika and Sharon. For the relatively little roles they had, they were fabulous. I loves Sharon Leal's voice.
One time, Patti LuPone punched me in the face...

It was awesome.
