Beyonce is perfectly cast. Get over it.

Better yet, suggest an actress who could sing the role better than Beyonce AND bring in the audience like you know she will.

True, I admit, she'll definitely pull in the crowds. She's the star of the moment. I just wish the Dreamgirls movie could come around at a point in time where the star of the moment was someone who was a better actress and singer. *shrug* BUT, that's not the point of the thread.

That artwork really is excellent. I mean, they absolutely nailed that period style. Wouldn't it be amazing if the whole movie recreated that period as well?

Singing wise Beyonce can bring people but honestly aren't we all just sick of her singing in every role she's in? She's never going to break herself out of that Diva mold and honestly her acting isn't the best at times. Too many examples there but for this role who better to take on Deena then someone who has lived the real life drama of multiple group breakups..i.e. Destiny's Childs line-up kept changing.

The person with Beyonce and Anika in the pic above is Sharon Leal. Sharon is portraying Michelle Morris in the film (Michelle replaces Effie after AITYING).

I actually think Beyonce can be PERFECT as Deena. I can't wait for December!

P.S. Spidey, I've actually liked VERY few of the female contestants from AI (Frenchie Davis, Vanessa Olivarez, Jessica Sierra, Tamyra...that may be it) but I loved Jennifer Hudson. I'll never forget her renditions of "Circle of Life" and "Weekend in New England." I'm hoping this movie is good and that it opens doors for her.

A lot of people think that the worst mistake was Ruben winning over Clay. To me, it was Jennifer Hudson being kicked off as early as she did and did not win that season.

I'm sorry but I dont really like the Touch album cover.It looks to modern. Their hair isnt retro enough and it lacks glam for me. Plus this album being enttiled Touch is another nod to the Supremes becuase they recorded an album called Touch after Diana left.

I've thought for a long time it would be an interesting promotional tie-in to have a record released by 'The Dreams', as if they were a real life recording group. It would have really retro artwork and contain the songs from the show that are actually supposed to be songs by The Dreams and/or Jimmy Early. Songs like Move, Steppin' to the Bad Side, Cadillac Car, I Want You Baby, Dreamgirls, Heavy, One Night Only, I'm Somebody, Hard to Say Goodbye. The actresses could even appear on talk shows and stuff as the fictional group to promote the movie.

I think this idea would be too cutesy if it actually happened, and it would be a huge risk, financially. Would people really by the CD AND a normal soundtrack. But it's a neat concept.
