Will you people please explain your fascination with Fantasia? It was announced back in November she lost the part as Effie, yet her name is consistently in these “Dreamgirls” related threads.

"That's pretty offensive statement to all the AMAZING touring performers out" I can see how that statement could be offensive. I wasn't trying to discredit the touring performers, it's just I sometimes associate the shows with the original cast.

If the show is successful on Broadway, it will mostly likely have a tour later. The only downside to a tour is it usually doesn't have all (or any) members of the Broadway cast.

I am SO excited about this show! I'm going on November 19th and I can't wait! I loved the book, but wasn't too thrilled with the movie. For those who have seen it, how does it compare to both?
