Dreamgirls Soundtrack on Billboard!

Hey all,

So the Dreamgirls soundtrack looks poised to take the #15 spot on the Billboard Top 200, selling over 100,000 copies. Whether this is coming Beyonce fans who will buy anything with her or from Broadway fans who were eagerly awaiting this, I say it's really impressive. It'll be interesting to watch its trajectory as people start to see the movie in wide release and as Oscar nom's come in, and when Jennifer wins...

Does anyone know of a second single, or think AIATYING will be? Timed with Oscar ballot due-time that would be smart...

P.S. What's interesting is that Beyonce's solo album featruing the awesome smash hit "Irreplaceable" is at #16 selling 102,000, and Dreamgirls is at #15 selling 104,000.

Sorry I said "looks poised to," as predicted by Hits Daily Double yesterday. Looks like they were off by 12k. Still I think it's good!

def. though I think the single CD v. double CD might take away from an amazing "chart-appearance" though obviously any sale is good.

I think when the movie comes out, it will do a lot better.

ya i agree since there are 2 different cd's people can buy it's not going to chart as well..but i also think once the movie comes out it's going sell like crazy.
