Here's the Theatremania review.
Backstage reviewed the first preview... they loved the girl playing Effie, Dion Millington, but the rest of the show was still on it's training wheels. Theatremania actually reviewed one of the shows after opening and gave it a much better review. The review from theatremania matches what I've heard some other people say about the show on the harlem rep's facebook page.

Those promo pictures were from the first time the director did the show in 2006.
The one in the daily news was for the current production.

The NY Times had a fun review of the show. The reviewer claimed the actress playing Deena, Natalia Peguero, looks like Juliet Prowse... I don't 100% agree, but it was a funny comment. All in all the show is good.
