AudreyTwoTwo:
You probably only have the old Geffin CD release of the OBC (mine had a horrible glitch in it, and would skip "Steppin to the Bad Side", and mess up the breaks if I wanted to go forward a track or back).
You really need to find the newer 2-CD version released by Decca Broadway. It adds three songs that were not on the original release (or the LP), including the "It's All Over" sequence that leads up to "And I Am Telling You".
That, and the Tony performance actually is shortened (though it still is an amazing 8 minutes). It cuts out all of Michelle's parts, but they are in the CD version.

Posted: 8/3/10 at 5:04pmDoes anyone remember the video that was posted on BWW of Jennifer Hudson helping with a high school production of the show around the time the movie came out? The Effie in the show had quite a good voice. Does anyone know if the video is still on here somewhere or if the girl who played Effie is still doing theater?

Posted: 8/4/10 at 1:14amHas there been ANY news or talk on a recording with the national tour cast? I know it was announced, but I don't know if they ever had time to go to the recording studio or whatever. I listen to both the OBC and the film soundtrack the most. I like the movie musical soundtracks, though, because most of the time they are recorded with bigger orchestras that really make the score sound better than it already was. :]
