Drowsy CD Booklet or Souvenir Program?

When I first saw The Drowsy Chaperone about a week ago, I was not at all expecting to buy the cast recording--but the second I got home from falling in love with the cast, I knew I had to get my hands (ears, whatever) on it and I immediately bought the album on iTunes.
Well, as much as I enjoy the cast recording, I'm finding out now that buying the CD would have been more than worth the extra money because of the 32 pages of full-color extras I've heard about in the booklet.
I already have another ticket to see Drowsy again in two weeks, and I know that this time I'll be buying a souvenir program (and hitting the stage door, of course). Now that I've already spent a good non-refundable $9.99 on the music, I'm wondering--is it worth it to buy the CD again just for the booklet, or will I find a lot of that clever material in the souvenir program? I'm sort of leaning towards just sticking with the souvenir program--I'm planning to buy the limited edition vinyl recording when it's released, which should also have some pretty funny and interesting material with it--but I'm trying to get an idea about how the photos and extras in the CD booklet differ from those in the souvenir program. Thanks for any info/advice you can give me!

The program is great! I rarely purchase programs anymore (I have I think exactly ONE from any show that I've seen in the last ten years), but I just happened to browse through the program after the show. I thought it was really clever. If you didn't know, it's half a souvenir program, and the other half of the program is actually Man in the Chair's scrapbook. It has reviews of the Drowsy Chaperone, pictures of the fictional stars, etc. There are also beautiful pictures of the real show. Definitely worth the $10 they are charging for it. Most programs now days are $20.

Posted: 7/17/06 at 12:11amI agree! The CD booklet is great, but the souvenir program is better. Plus, many of the pictures in the booklet are also in the program.

Posted: 7/17/06 at 9:29amI'm going in about a month. How much are souvenir programs? Also, do they have keychains and if so, how much are they? Thanks!

Posted: 7/17/06 at 10:42amThe CD booklet is excellent, but I'm sure that the program is similar and perhaps better. (That opinion may change once I buy the program.)

Posted: 7/17/06 at 11:45amThe CD booklet is cute but not worth it if you already have the CD. The souvenir program is amazing, one of the best I've ever seen, truly entertaining and adorable. Even though the material's not quite the same, I'm sure you'll be quite satisfied with the souvenir book.

Ooh I'm so buying the record!
(I'll need to dig up that Smurfs Record Player I had when I was a kid.)
