SPOILERS!!!
Drowsy Chaperone (The show within the show) comes alive when Man in Chair puts the record in the record player. It is a two record recording, and he accidently puts on the wrong record when he switches records (which is inbetween the two acts of the show within the show), and this show also comes to life in the apartment. When Man in Chair realizes his mistake he puts the correct record in and the show within the show resumes.

Posted: 6/16/06 at 10:48pmNot a problem. It is great when you see it live, because (and remember that the actors are playing actors who are playing characters in the show within the show) the actors are playing the same actors but different characters in this different show, and you see similarities in the characters. It is a brilliant moment.

I have a question now.
Does anyone know what instrument is being played in "Show Off" track 7, at around 1 minute 49 seconds.

The chimes is from glasses being clinked, then the next sound os from her blowing into a jar and then after that it is the instrument that they use to control snakes- i dont know what that is called. I think you meant the blowing into the har because that's what is exactly at 1:49. Wtach the tony performance on youtube.com

Posted: 6/17/06 at 4:24pmWhy did they place Song from an Nightingale at the end of the CD at the end instead of where it goes in the show? And "As We Stumble Along" sung by Man In Chair, I don't remember that being in the show in LA was it? And if it was I don't remember it being in that spot.

Message From a Nightingale is at the end just so that it doesn't interrupt the flow of the show within the show.
Possible spoilers: If I remember correctly, 'As We Stumble Along' as sung by Man in Chair and cast is in the middle of "I Do, I Do in the Sky" when the superintendent of the building comes up and interrupts Man in Chair listening to the show. He talks about how the moment is ruined, and starts to sing it, and then the rest of the cast comes back to surround him. Very cute indeed.
Edit: Correct me if I'm wrong on this. I saw the show a month or so ago...

Is there a name besides "blowing into a jar?"
It has to have some kind of instrument name.
#12re: Drowsy Chaperone CD Question
Posted: 6/17/06 at 4:56pmIt doesn't, because it's not an instrument. It's Sutton "showing off" by blowing into the jars to make music. Watch the performance, you'd get it.

Posted: 6/17/06 at 7:58pmThat sound can also be "faked" on the synthesizer - there is a standard midi synth patch called "bottle blow".

"Jar" is not the correct description. It's a "jug". Here's some info on...

Actually, I think it was a bottle.
I could tell because there was a "bottle" patch on the synthesizer when that happens.
