I can't imagine there would be much of a movie-going audience for this no matter how many people here like it.

They would have to change the concept for the movie, something like the Man in Chair is a lover of old movie musicals instead of Broadway shows. I think it could work if they got the right people. Obviously Meryl Streep could play the title Chaperone character, maybe get Anne Hathaway to play Janet Van de Graaf. I think I read somewhere Hugh Jackman was in talks to play Aldolpho? I love the show. A movie could work.

Drowsy Chaperone just screams live broadcast. A movie, however? Not so sure.

The last thing I heard about it was that Geoffrey Rush was playing Man in Chair.

That was last year some time.

I now remember Barbra Streisand allegedly being in talks to star, but that seems far-fetched.
