"Antarctica, oh please!"
I crack up every time I have to say Antarctica ~ which considering my summer school theme is "Under the Sea" and we're including penguins I have to do quite a bit. It's all I can do NOT to say "Oh please!" :)

Surprise, wait until it's ready,
Surprise, wait until it's ready,
Surprise, wait until it's ready, etc.

'Please Elton John, must we continue with this charade?'
It's the way Bob says it, cracks me up every time.
Also 'I thought I'd ruin the moment by proxy'...

I can't quote it but the part about the monkey song. The melody is wonderful but please ignore the lyrics. I quite agree.
I laughed at the Elton John comment too, especially after Lestat. Though I liked Elton's Lion King songs.

If memory serves me, i love when the chaperone comes out of the fridge or something after "Show Off" wearing the straight jacket and then says "Did i miss something?"
Cracks me up every time!
Oh and of course: "Thats pure vodka you boob!"

I'm quite partial to: "I couldn't help it, Janet! She was just like you, only French!".
Very injokey though; my name's Janet, and my friends and I sometimes tease each other using the word "French" (as in "you have French hair" or other such comments that are less than funny when I write them down, but bizarrely hilarious in context. After drinking boozes). :)

i love the "are you surprised i've been married? you know, you shouldn't make assumptions about people." i don't have it word-for-word, but i love it!
and also "everything always works out in musicals. In the real world, nothing ever works out and the only people who burst into song are the hopelessly deranged."
i'm sooo glad bob is touring when it comes to philly! it's dedication that i'm going to the one performance i can go to because it will be the end of the semester when everything is piling up haha...thank goodness it's a short show, although i do want to meet beloved bob!

It's not poop anymore. Now it's fool.
I liked poop better. Maybe Joanne wanted to change it.

Posted: 7/11/07 at 8:28pmI basically love the entire "Overture" section. My favorite line being: "That’s what an overture is, a musical appetizer. A poo poo platter of tunes, if you will."

This is a paraphrase.
"Why can't the Asians
Be more like Caucasians."
That's a brilliant line.

...unless you find dancers intimidating, which I do, but for reasons that would not be appropriate to this situation.
Love that line, and his delivery is perfectly ambiguous.

Some people say he acted like a toothpaste model and to them i say - SHUT UP!
Love isn't lovely in the end. It normally ends in divorce.
I have a question. Who puts olives in a gibson?

My goodness, I this show.
My favorite lines are..
or were... "that's pure vodka, you poop"
"Who are you, Who am I, and why is this cake on fire?"
The quote about Cocaine in the toothpaste. "It was the 5th ingredient on the list, right after sugar"
"I thought I'd ruin the moment by proxy"
and
"I'm sure in the 1920s they had something for the ruining of moments, bugles maybe"
(i don't think i got those exactly correct)
and
"Try not to think about the poodles."

Posted: 7/12/07 at 1:48amI really like when at the end, MIC says "Oh! I love it so much, I knowe its not a perfect show, the spit take scene is lame, and the monkey motif is labored, but it does what a musical is supposed to do: it takes you to another world, and it gives a tune to carry with you in your head when you're feeling blue..." for me it really sums up why I love theatre...

Mrs. Tottendale: 'twas a happy fate for Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, love is always lovely in the end.
Underling: I must point out, madam, that Anne Boleyn lost her head.
Mrs. Tottendale: Yeeess, she was in LOVE!!
