A friend of mine recently went to New York for the very first time and absolutely fell in love with "The Drowsy Chaperone" (on my recommendation).
She already bought the CD and has been listening to it nonstop since she got back. I'd love to get her something else "Drowsy" related, but not cheezy like a T-shirt or poster.
Is there a book on "Drowsy"?
She is not interested in the vinyl since it is similar to the CD and she does not have a turntable.
Is Bob Martin's TV show "Slings and Arrows" anything like "Drowsy"?
"Drowsy" is coming on tour to our area this summer, but single tickets arent available yet - does Ticketmaster do gift cards?
What about **cough cough** a DVD of the show **cough cough**?

Speaking of "Drowsy for Christmas",,, I just covered the tour stop in Philly last night. It's an excellent cast; not a weak link in the bunch. Nancy Opel is a hoot! The audience also fell in love with Drowsy in Philly.
It plays at the Academy of Music until 12/2. Visit BWW's PA baord for a discount code. Don't miss this if you're in town.
BWW review to come. gotta run!

You might want to get her the program from "Drowsy." Normally, that might be cheezy, but this one is not only a program of the show, it is also Man-in-Chair's scrapbook. You can see his hilarious comments, which were not in the show, about some of the characters and other Theatre related things. I think it's a must-have for any "Drowsy" fan.

The humor of Drowsy is very much steeped in a Canadian sensibility and the comic tone present in Slings and Arrows very much is in the same vein. AND it's all about theatre! It's brilliant!

It seems you are looking for something "bootleg". I want one too! I like the souvenir program. If you want something unique, get it autographed. You can either buy one from Ebay or send it into the cast and make sure you have everything they need to send it back to you. Then you have a collectors items. I like one of the Posters but you should find out which one they like and have it framed.
Depends on how much time and effort you want to put into this gift. The snow globe from BC/EFA is very nice and would make a nice gift as well. Of course the ultimate gift will be to travel someone to see the Tour. That's a gift you can both share.
Slings and Arrows is a good series. I would try the other things first, if it is Musicals they love the most. It really is drama based. It it is funny. It doesn't have the costumes or the characters I love from Drowsy. A few might be familiar. The cast is very good. Lisa and I think Greg wrote a few songs for the show as well.

Can one pop into the theater and get a program? And is the Man in Chair's "Book of Dreams" the same as the program? I can't remember if you present your ticket before going into the lobby area where the concession stands are.

They brought out some programs before the show I went into at NY. I was happy to buy it while waiting for some where to sit down. You do have to present your ticket to get through the door. I don't like that Theatre very much either. I am sure if you ask, someone will be happy to sell you one. You can buy them online too!
It is the same thing that you mentioned uncageg. It would be nice if the Tour put out their own cast Program since they too are putting on the show. I like just having something that represents those who are putting on the show.
Mine is autographed but I stagedoored to get them. It was nice though to get to tell Actors you really loved their work, so I didn't mind.
