Okay. So, we went to meet Adam before the show. He was as sweet as could be... signed, took pictures, etc. I was overcome with glee when he put his arm around me. Tight grip on that boy. Yum.
Anyway, after that was all taken care of, I was like "I have a strange request, if you have a minute." I'm going to try my hardest to remember exactly how this went... I feel so horribly stupid right now. This is pretty funny.
Adam: "Yeah, sure."
Me: "Okay. See, we have this friend who lives really far away and won't be able to get down to see you, and she would like to see you sing to this." And I whip out the spork. I paused for a second to figure out where I was going to go with this next, and Adam was like "Oh, I don't think so sweetie." Now, I need to put some sort of clarification or disclaimer here. See, in print that's likely to be interpreted in the wrong way, and by just quoting him, I feel like I'm making him sound like he was a total jerk about it, but he wasn't at all. I feel like reading this, it may come off like he was sarcastic, or not nice about it, which he definitely wasn't. He was kind of hard to read at first, but I honestly think that I just confused him. Like, really... I didn't *actually* expect him to sing to this thing. I figured that vocally, having to do two shows today, it wouldn't be a good thing for him to do, not being warmed up and such. It was more of a reaction like that, I guess... sort of appologetic, maybe? Sort of confused, too. So I was like "Oh! No, no. I didn't *actually* expect you to sing to it. Could you just pose for a picture with it?" Adam takes the spork, and says of course. He motions for me to come over to him. I was holding my camera, so I shook my head sheepishly and said "No, just you." He laughed, held up the spork and made a really, really cute face. I took the picture, took the spork back from him and said "You're wonderful. Thank you so much!" Cara was next to me, so she was like "You just made someone really happy! Thanks!" And with that the three of us nutty gals let Adam go inside and took off to get on line.
PM me if you want gory details, i.e. what he wore and exactly what was said pre-spork. I don't feel like posting all of that stuff up here.
