Let me first start by saying it is so nice to see an 8:00 show and be home before mid-night!
Now, I have never felt like such a tourist in New York City, I had to pick up my ticket at the box office and could not for the life of me find the theatre, so I wound up going into the Times Square Information Center and asked for help where a lovely young lady gave me the theatre information- the theatre is very inconveniently located between 8th and 9th avenue, but even when I got the correct address I still almost walked right by the theatre, it is so easy to miss!
Also, I always hear people talking about how they see Broadway performers on the street and I always feel like I never see any, well that all changed: I passed Adam Chanler-Berat, Louis Hobson, and Jennifer Damiano all along eight avenue walking together. I also walked by Marcia Gay Harden coming out of the Golden theatre with ice creams saying to her self "I always go into the wrong theatre!"; Brian D'Addario whom I always seem to see walking to the theatre to play Flounder and I also walked by Matthew Mindler from Billy Elliot holding his mom's hand, it was adorable!
Now onto the show...
I went into the theatre not knowing what to expect and came out extremely satisfied! It was a great show: music, book and all; Sherie really has had such an interesting life. I can't remember the last time I really had a good laugh out loud experience in the theatre, and the jokes were simply great... although I seemed to be the only one the get the whole "LULZ" part with the letters from Sherie to BroadwayIsLove09.
Sherie Rene Scott was simply brilliant in what really was a one woman show. I'm not really to sure what to say about her performance being that she was playing herself! But, I came out of the theatre loving her even more than I already do!
Lindsay Mendez, Betsy Wolfe, and Eamon Foley were all great, and had nice voices and great comedic timing, but they really weren't on stage enough for me to say more about them.
I really enjoyed this show and while I would love for it to come to Broadway, I really don't see it happening unless it is for a limited engagement- but, you never know!
I recommend every sees this before it closes, truly a great show!
5 out of 5 stars!
I just don't see why it would need to come to Broadway? It's a pretty interesting show, but I don't see how it could possibly do well in a larger house.
from what I heard it was looking into the Helen Hayes. so it's not like it's going into a HUGE house.
I think it could transfer to a commercial off-Broadway house, but not Broadway.
New World Stages would be an ideal venue, I would think.
Agreed. Although nothing seems to last there, which is odd because it's such a great venue.

Agreed. Although nothing seems to last there,
Tell that to Altar Boyz, Bubble SHow, Naked Boys, and My First Time.
That Marcia Gay Harden story amused me.
