Several friends joined me this evening for the early show of EVIL DEAD, and we had the best time. We laughed, averted our eyes, jumped out of our seats, and tapped our toes to this crazy, mad, fun, never-takes-itself-serious musical. Fun props, fun choreography, fun sets, and a talented group of actors who are have a fun time.
The songs:
ACT ONE
1. Cabin in the Woods
2. Housewares Employee
3. It Won't Les Us Leave
4. Look Who's Evit Now
5. What the Fu*k?
6. Join Us
7. Good Old Reliable Jake
8. Housewares Employee (reprise)
9. I'm Not a Killer
ACT TWO
1. I'm Not a Killer (reprise)
2. Bit-Part Demon
3. All the Men in My Life
4. Ode to an Accidental Shooting
5. Do the Necronomicon
6. It's Time
7. We will Never Die
8. You Blew That B*tch Away
A favorite line:
Ash: Linda, that wasn't the kind of head I was thinking of.
Yes, there is a "splatter zone" in the first two rows, and quite a splater.
Plus it was great to be with BWW friends before, during and after the show over dinner, and to meet new ones, too.
EVIL DEAD will be with us for a while.

Favorite prop: the buzzsaw.
Ryan Ward is onstage throughout, his energy never sagging.
EVIL DEAD is only for those of you who want to see a show and to have a screamingly fun time.

The entire cast was very good, too. Fun, silly, good singers, and thoroughly enjoying themselves. Hinton's choreography is clever and energetic.
We had a great time.
The "splatter" zone was packed, and the audience was loving it.

Plastic sheets are handed out to those in the "splatter zone," but many appeared to want to be "hit." Some of the blood really, really squirts far, too!
I have little to no reference to the film, and still I found this show satisfying and riotously funny.

Because we had a terrific time at this show I'm bumping this thread.
EVIL DEAD opened this evening and BWW's own reviewer Michael Dale, and the TheatreMania review extol the fun.

Posted: 11/1/06 at 11:50pmI saw this a couple days ago. I thought that this was the next underground cult also. It reminded me of RHPS. You could definitely have fun with this as an audience memeber. My friend and I thought of some great drinking games during the show. Its just a fun time.
