Hoping someone can give me some last-minute advice for tomorrow.*
Anyone know of rushes for which I could show up AT 10:00 (or better yet, at noon) and still get a ticket for the matinee? Or anyone have advice on which lottos are actually good bets?
I have a student ID and I'm not picky about seats. I just don't want to spend more than $35 or so, and I want to see something I haven't seen yet - so pretty much anything from this season or last (except I've seen Young Frank, and I'm totally SA'd out). Preferably a musical but not necessarily.
One question in particular - any chance Xanadu's stage seats will still be around at noonish, or do they tend to go first thing? (They're still available now, but I can't bring myself to pay all those damn ticketing fees.)
It's so sad... I used to be the one giving people all this info. I'll report back if anyone's looking for info.
Thanks so much for your help!
*I'm admittedly not doing a thorough search on this, so if you're going to roll your eyes and say "try searching" I respect that, but if anyone's got some info off the top of their heads and would be willing to share I'd be very appreciative

I'd say Passing Strange would be a good bet. I don't know about Xanadu because they only have 20 tickets. Last time I went there was a line but it was also prime Spring Break weeks.
Best of luck!

I showed up at Spring Awakening at 10:15 and got tickets, and Legally Blonde is pretty dry too lately.
hope it helps!

Thanks Guys!
Foster, serious about the plays? I'm seeing that August, Cat, Homecoming & Macbeth all have rush - they should be easy?
(guessing perhaps not August, anymore).
Any other suggestions welcome!

LIVE THAT LESSON!!!!!!

Xanadu's matinee on a Wed. might actually be available still. (I didn't check. I will.)
August, if you haven't seen it, is brilliant!
Also recommend In the Heights.

I picked up two rush tickets for Cry-Baby's matinee today at about 12:15 or so. They were close to the last ones. There were also no rush seats left for Gypsy at that time, according to the box office. My seats were front row and $26.50 each and they do ask for a student ID, in case you needed to know.

Thanks for all your help guys!
I decided to try my luck at the In the Heights lottery first, and it was shockingly empty - almost everyone there got tickets! It seems the big crowds were just during spring break.
Some more info for folks going in the coming weeks:
The TKTS booth had ZERO line when I walked by at 12:30, and it seemed like almost everything was up.
Talked to the Box Office about Xanadu Rush, and they said that everything goes in the morning, but people haven't been lining up and waiting. From what he said, it sounds like if you show up between 10 and 11 you can get rush seats. (Didn't sound like 11 was a hard-and-fast rule, just a guideline) And yes, stage seats get sold with the rush tickets if they're not all sold yet.
I also saw scalpers trying desperately to unload 1/2 price Young Frank tickets (it was also up at TKTS, so I found it amusing)
And I didn't see it, but I heard second-hand that someone had picked up student seats for South Pacific and was trying to scalp them for $100 a pop!
Anyway, thanks again for all your input, and hope this thread is helpful to others too.

Posted: 4/9/08 at 7:42pmyour info actually helps me because I plan to take my mom to ITH soon and need to figure out how we can get lotto seats / if we lose how we can still see the show, I think I worded that incorrectly.

They have seats that sell normally for $31 or so in the rear mezzanine. After the lotto ended they said "for anyone who didn't win, there are probably still some $31 seats left."
You can also buy those in advance, though, so if you want to make sure you see it that might be a better bet.
