Yes...and no...By proffesional, I hope you mean getting paid. If that is the case, I do Children's Theatre in Jersey.

There's no such thing as an approximate number, as I have seen MANY.
5. Have you seen any shows in London's West End? IF so how many?
No. Never been outside of N. America.
6. What was the best show you saw on Broadway?
Do I have to choose just one? Ragtime.

Probably not - unless there was a West End Star like Elaine Paige or Linzi Hately, or if I was familiar with the story - otherwise, I probably wouldn't pay it any mind.

I doubt I will ever be in the West End
12. Do you think from a performers point of view it is better to be in a musical playing in the West End or on Broadway?
I would say it is equal, unless theatre in the West End is like Hollywood here. But I don't know that, because I do not know how famous Frances Ruffelle, Linzi Hately or Claire Moore is in London.
13. What do you think, if any, are the differences between a Broadway or a West End musical?
Productions in the West End (from what I have heard) are done on a lower scale - such as cheaper. I heard in Starlight Express, they wore pillows as padding, and the many things I heard about Ragtime.
14. Do you think an 1980's style take over a Broadway could happen again with the jukebox and film based musicals?
I don't understand the question, but if it means what I think it reads, then...No.

Gotta hand it to you - it's rare to find an attack here that isn't offensive. Congratulations, you have impressed me.

My attitude comes from visiting this message board since its beginning in May 2003 and seeing its development. I feel like we're best friends who are sick of each other but can't leave each other's side because we're too good of friends.

I have issues.

In any case, my comments in this thread were to help out: At University education level, this doesn't seem like a good topic to report on. Doesn't mean it doesn't have to be related to theatre - but West End and Broadway? Honestly - a few thousand miles, a different dialect, and a different landscape.

Yorkie, you said you have seen "between 200 and 300" yet your three worst musicals have been in this season, "Good Vibrations, Brooklyn, La Cage Aux Folles Revival." While I agree that this season produced some flops, out of 200-300 shows the three worst were from this season?

6. What was the best show you saw on Broadway? --1983's On Your Toes revival.
7. And the worst? --Some abomination with Sid Caesar back in the 80s doing his old stuff from Your Shows of Shows. I forget it's name. As for musicals, possibly Do Black Patent Leather Shoes Really Reflect Up, but there are many disgraces I've sat through which for some reason folks around here think are good (Is There Life After High School, anyone? The answer is NO!).
8. The best show you have seen in London's West End? --The National Theatre's production of Sunday In The Park With George in 1990 or so. Seeing a different staging of it was incredible. Very impressive.
9. And the worst? --Blood Brothers.

What do you think, if any, are the differences between a Broadway or a West End musical? --Historically, Broadway shows have more of a life in revival since they were far better written and more universal in approach, although that has changed since the British Invasion. And obviously it costs less to produce an elaborate production over there and you're less likely to lose the shirt off your back.

Do you think an 1980's style take over of Broadway could happen again with the jukebox and film based musicals? --Film-based musicals will be around for a while and I don't think of them as taking Broadway over. They are merely another source of adaptation and nothing to be alarmed about. The jukebox thing will run out of steam fairly quickly.
