Ebonic_Singer in L5Y!!!

Tonight I had the pleasure of seeing Mr. Ebonic_Singer in The Last 5 Years somewhere not so close to where I live, but it was worth the trip.

If you haven't heard him sing before, you're missing out...it's good stuff. I decided if I could sing, I wouldn't mind sounding like him. His use of falsetto alone has saved me from countless suicide attempts and tonight was no different.

I realized, as he started "Shiksa Goddess" that I was finally going to hear someone make all those little falsetto moments in L5Y actually work and not sound awkward...and I was right.

His Cathy was a pretty good match, though she kind of forgot she had lines at the end of "The Next Ten Minutes," and just walked offstage, so there was an awkward moment where the orchestra just kept vamping, wondering if she was going to come back and finish the lines...but she didn't. It was fun.

So in conclusion, Mr. Ebonic_Singer, and the show overall, was delightful. He may not be BWW Idol, but f*ck all you bitches, what do you know?

Just to clarify, I wasn't in the back corner the whole time.

I was going to talk to Mr. Singer when he was bombarded by (what I thought was) his family, so I just sat down and waited for all the tiny and/or old people to clear out.

Except I did it with style and grace. And I never ran. I walked gracefully. Even after blinding a person with a sharpie. OK. So I did that to the people on my side of the barricade. But it was still LOADS of fun.

Ebonic - glad it went well - but you really should let people know about these things. Support is always nice, and from what I can gather, those who have come out from BWW usually make for a good audience.
