^ Stephanie J. Block isn't a terrible actress. Her acting was wonderful when I saw her as Elphaba. She also got a Drama Desk Award nomination for "9 to 5" over Josefina Scaglione who is wonderful as Maria in "West Side Story."

Block isn't awful, but she's a musical theater actress. She's not going to give you this layered, realistic portrayal. But she's good at what she does, I think.
I would love to have seen Levy do Wicked. Her voice is great and I just really enjoy her.

Are you saying musical theater actresses are incapable of giving "layered, realistic portrayals?" Some of the finest stage performances I've seen have been given by musical theater actresses- Alice Ripley in next to normal, Christine Ebersole in Grey Gardens, Karen Olivo in West side Story, Patti LuPone in Gypsy, Audra Mcdonald in the original Ragtime. They're all "musical theater actresses" who gave very layered performances.

The Toronto thing is pretty up in the air for now, as we Torontonians got a blurb in the Star the other day that one of Wicked's touring companies is set to hit up TO October 20th through November 28th. Well, we'll see February 22nd, when Mirvish announces their season.
I feel bad for all the fans that went to "Eden's last ahhhh D:<333" and now have this dropped on them.
^^Well Eden's last wasn't just her last, it was the last show in the L.A. run(until they open that up again XD).
And nominations doesn't really mean someone is more talented than another, it isn't really a gage of talent at all, save for the being good enough for the people who are the voters to vote for them.
You think all the Wicked fans would understand by now that the performer's "last" will never truly be theit last show in Wicked. The majority of them have returned to their roles (nothing wrong with that... Well except for Kendra.)
RentBoy86, I saw Caissie Levy here in LA numerous times.. Her voice in the beginning of her run wasn't as strong, but she quickly became amazing. It's sad that many of the LA fans slammed her performance and voice & bashed her like crazy. Personally, I enjoyed her fresh take as Elphaba, as well as her singing the score as it was written and not riffing all over the place to the point they've made the song their own.

Caissie Levy - loved her. Saw her two times in LA. First time, I was disappointed when I entered the theatre because I didn't know Eden had left. But didn't stay disappointed for long. Second time was her last show. So, so good.
I'm okay with Eden coming back. She's got a wedding to pay for! But, if I see Wicked again, it will be in New York with Katie Clarke and Mandy Gonzales (if she is truly coming).
Caissie gave the best performance I've ever seen from an Elphaba in Wicked. Oh, and not to mention the brilliant performance she gives in Hair! I saw her on her final night in Los Angeles as Elphaba, and having seen Eden prior to Caissie, I loved seeing someone who can act the role and make it multi-dimensional, not just angry. Not to mention the fact that her vocals were on FIRE that night.
She's also such a sweetheart. Eden wasn't terribly friendly when I met her.

^ SHE DIDN'T EVEN COME BACK YET! CHILL!
she's most likely staying with the show until it closes
Anyone know when Eden will leave?
According to Facebook she's there for a three month run beginning March 2nd and ending on June 6th.
ETA: LizzieCurry your request is done. Thanks! And regarding the Facebook comment from Eden she actually posted the specific dates at her Twitter account when she mistakenly wrote 4 months instead of 3 at Facebook.
