I'm sure I read that someone on here was going to see Elena Shaddow in Show Boat at the Royal Albert Hall in London but I haven't seem them post about it so I thought I would...

Elena was really wonderful as Magnolia in Show Boat, she has such a beautiful voice and her performance was very moving. She really has sparkling stage presence, and it was great to have a real Broadway lead in such a classic Broadway show, it gave the production a kind of authenticity which English actors can't bring, no matter how talented they are. Just something that Broadway performers inherently have, and she definitely has it. Maybe I'm wrong, but it just seemed that way to me! This is a really spectacular production, I think there were about 80 people in the cast and the set is also very impressive. The orchestra sounded gorgeous and looked very large although it's sadly quite hidden from the audience. The rest of the cast was all great, especially Jenny Galloway as Parthy - soon to be playing Madame Thenardier in the Broadway Les Mis revival!

But the reason for posting this was to say how stunning I thought Elena was, and how sad I am that she's only performing here in London for two weeks. I wish I was able to see her as Clara in the Piazza tour! :)

I am glad you liked it! Elena is stunning! She has an amazing voice and is one of the sweetest people I have met. It is also awesome to see that David Burt is in this production. I saw him as Fosco in WIW in London. Elena was in it in NY. Something they have in common!

I think my parents are getting tix once they go on sale because my family is friendly with her after we saw Carnival! She is such a sweetheart!
