Elisabeth Moss Completes Casting of SPEED-THE-PLOW

"Elisabeth Moss, who plays Peggy Olson on AMC's "Mad Men," will play the role of temp secretary Karen, according to Variety. Moss' role was created by pop star Madonna in the play's 1988 Broadway bow. Speed-the-Plow will mark Moss' Broadway debut."

Fun Theater Fact: Moss played Baby Louise in the Bette Midler TV adaptation of GYPSY.

Oh, EXCELLENT! My fave TV show - (MADMEN - brilliant). she's perfect. they are, too, although this Mamet play is not my favorite, I'm hoping the cast shines and makes it worthwhile!

It's not good to stunt cast the sec'y role (small, but pivotal role), because it throws off the entire dynamic of the play, as the producers of the original BC did with Madonna, who could hardly *speak*. And if you're old enough to remember the time before digital cameras, etc., the audience misbehaved so horrendously (with big flash cameras and huge *hidden* (?!) camcorders, I felt sorry for Mantegna and Silver, who valiantly forged ahead every night. I still have the playbill and "insert" which in no uncertain terms, warned the aud. that cameras would be confiscated by the mgmt., etc. It was nightmarish. Now I really feel sorry for Daniel Radcliffe. that theater is going to be like a zoo.

Me too! that's what I know her from. I have a very sentimental attachment to that movie...and Erik von Detten. haha

Elisabeth Moss isn't exactly a stunt cast. I doubt most people would even know who she is.

I just got Season 1 of Mad Men today, and I haven't stopped watching it since. (I have to watch it all before Sunday, so i can watch Season 2). But it's a great show, and she's wonderful in it. She's so subtle, so I hope that translates well to the stage.
