Posted: 4/23/09 at 3:33pmIf anyone is an Ellen Greene fan, you must must MUST get the released '76 production of the Threepenny Opera with her and Raul Julia which was just rereleased by Arkiva. Her Jenny is almost (gulp) superior to Lotte Lenya.

Adelaide is middle-aged woman right...or at least I thought she was supposed to be one.
Ellen Greene seems fine to me, especially with wigs, make up and costume.
I'm most interested in hearing Jessica Biel...I just don't see her as a soprano.

My copy of Raul and Ellen's Threepenny just came in the mail. I'm gonna listen to it later tonight, I'm so excited!
Now if only the cast of the recent revival would come together to record an album.

Kind of liked what they did with Les Miz last year at the Bowl. But I think I am going to pass this year. I just don't think Broadway musical stagings work well at the Bowl. SO many other things to see there this summer.
