It occurs to me that Ellen Greene is getting a large amount of "free" publicity because of the revival of Little Shop of Horrors. Makes me wonder how long it is before someone (Barry and Fran?) cast her in something on Broadway and/or a new film... Anyone else thinks someone will "capitalize" on Ellen's recent press?
Will her boss at Sears give her the time off? I mean, who will stock the shelves in her absence?

JohnPopa, do you have first hand knowledge that she's working at Sears and stocking shelves? If so, I would love to stop by and say, "Hi." But I was under the impression that she's still actively performing. I would certainly hate to think that you were attempting to imply that any job at Sears is demeaning in any way.
She's obviously not working at Sears. I'm surprised at a comment like *that* on this board by any regulars. This imaginary world where Sutton Foster is considered a *superstar* and a (literally), complete and total unknown such as Jessica Grove gets "fan frenzy". At least Ellen Greene wouldn't draw blank stares from most of the free world as most likely Sutton, Alice, Jessica, etc..., would.

Yes, Al Dente. How soon some forget and dismiss past Tony nominees.
I defy anyone that has heard her "Pirate Jenny" say it doesn't give them chills.
didn't she recently have a CD come out and perform a set at XL Lounge in Chelsea? plus LAW & ORDER needs her back this season, she's very good on it.
Yep she was at XL...I saw her there. She's still great.
Last summer I had the pleasure of seeing Ellen perform her cabaret act at the Bradstan Inn in White Lake, NY. Great venue with probably only 75 seats. She STILL has "it" and looks incredible. Her versions of "Somewhere That's Green" and "Suddenly, Seymour" are still unbeatable and she received a standing ovation from a predominantly older crowd.
I love that on a board where being actively hostile and insulting to any and all performers is the norm that somehow I'm breaking some secret theater code of ethics by not giving two squirts about Ellen Greene.

all better now
Ellen Greene is a good performer, because when you hear her sing, you also feel her emotion.

I just find her unusually enormous breasts fascinating, but hey! good voice too.
am I the ONLY one who finds her singing voice annoying?! ::sigh:::
I love Ellen!!! Does anyone know what she's up to next? does she have any cabaret dates scheduled? I missed her at joe's pub a few months back.
John, I know you were trying to make a point, but Ellen Greene really is a fantastic actress/singer/performer! I REALLY wish she was in something now to display her huge talent. I do hope that she returns to Broadway/or the entertainment business in some fashion real soon!
