I am always embarrising myself with oubursts of theater love in public.
For instance this morning in school, I saw a girl in the hallway with a company playbill and freaked out!!!!
Also in AMerican HIstory class a couple years ago when we were talking a bout the slave trade I burst into a chorus of "mollassas to Rum" from 1776, it was so funny
what are your stories?

We were telling our teacher about our favorite thing in History and I said the French Revolution.
And in all seriousness, that really is one of my favorite things in world history.
And my annoying "lets make everything awkward and more confortable with an annoying attitude says"
"No it's only because you love Les Mis & Gary Beach!!"
Now both of those are true, but I would still like the French Revolution had those not been.
Needless to say, it was embarassing.
I'm sorry you got kicked out of Starbucks though.

Ohh I have so many of these. They aren't all that embarrasing though.
-We were learning about the French Revolution in class and I started humming "Do You Hear The People Sing" louder than I thought I was. My teacher had to shush me. Then there was the time We were learning about the Holocoust and I was humming "Springtime for Hitler" again, louder than I thought I was. And there was the time we were learning about the Battle of Normandy and of course I started humming the song "Normandy" louder than I thought I was.
-I saw a girl in the hallway at my school wearing a Spelling Bee t-shirt and I ran up to her and went "OHMYGODILOVETHATSHOW!!!"
-I was at a coffee shop and saw that the casier was wearing a name tag, and that name tage said Taylor. It was my turn to order and I went "Taylor the Latte Boy!" as though I had known this guy my entire life.
-In english we were reading Inherit the Wind and I had a playbill from it and brought it in and my teacher made photocopies of it for the entire class. Also in english my teacher mentioned how she saw Les Mis on Broadway and I was all too excited to mention that the revival would be opening that night. And, my English teacher (again) and I were wearing our "Can you please use that in a sentence?" shirts on the same day.

These aren't embarrassing but I will share them anyway
Sadly, in Social Studies( it seems as if almost all the dumb asses in the school have been put in that class) I was the one of few people who could pronounce John Wilkes Booth correctly. The only reason I knew how to say it right was because of Assassins.
We did a class Spelling Bee to see who would go onto the schools spelling bee and the only reason I got grandeur was because of Wicked.
When I got to Starbucks I always look at the guys name-tag to see if his names is Taylor. Someday his name will be Taylor.

This isn't really embarrassing, but while I was waiting in line a the bathroom in school, I saw this girl with a Mary Poppins shirt on. I was like "Excuse me, but I really like your shirt."
We got into a little conversation and she told me that I should try out for the school musical.

Stage Manager 2:
I completely know that, but it's the same era-feel to me.
And I wouldve corrected her right there in class...but then no one might talk to me.
Haha. =)
And to ILoveMyDictionary:
I have sung all of those songs (in the first part) in school before.
Haha.
And gotten stared at on a bus for singing Springtime under my breath...I really don't hate jewish people.
Haha. =).

I always have to correct my friends that just because a show is touring doesn't mean it's still not playing on Broadway. And the fact that Broadway is more than one theater.
Also...my friend just got into Wicked and I started singing the entire CD in her car, and she asked if I heard of it. And I just shot her one of those "are you kidding me?" looks, and then went into the entire story of it. Same with Rent.

Every time, they show a documentary on Hitler, I'll think of "Springtime For Hitler". It's hard not to.
While this isn't embarrassing, I was at the beach once with my mom and there was a sign that read 'Welcome, Bienvenue'. I started singing "Willkommen" from Cabaret. And my mom didn't care because Cabaret is her favorite show as it is mine.
I sort of have a funny story, though:
This past summer I worked at a theatre where we had two contrasting shows in a row [Cabaret and Hello, Dolly!] So during Hello, Dolly! one of the actors [who was also in Cabaret] found the Ricola can in the green room and started singing "Tomorrow Belongs To Me" because there was a picture of a linden branch on it. 'The branch of the linden is leafy and green...'
"Yes, the brutalities of progress are called revolutions. When they are over, men recognize that the human race has been harshly treated but it has moved forward." - Les Miserables
