It was a lot of fun. I particularly enjoyed Cheyenne Jackson, Cady Huffman (she sang "Life Is Just a Bowl of Cherries"), Jim Caruso, Will Chase (he sang "Rainbow Connection"), little Struan Erlenhorn (he sang "No One is Alone"), Malcolm Gets (he accompanied himself on the piano), and Mary Bond Davis.
Based on the way some of the performers were dressed, it appears that they don't have any gay friends. I mean, some of them looked as if they got dressed in the dark . . . in a second-hand store. Exceptions were Cheyenne Jackson, Mary Bond Davis, and Cady Huffman; they looked good.
Jeff Marx, one of the creators of "Avenue Q," was in the front row.
How was Jason Wooten?
Jason sang "Origin of Love" from Hedwig and the Angry Inch and accompanied himself on guitar, with the "house" band playing backup. I thought he sounded (and looked!) incredible.
Will Chase singing "Rainbow Connection" brought tears to my eyes. He never ceases to amaze me.
My least favorite moment was "Taylor the Latte Boy." I love that song, and she butchered it. It was a poor selection, IMO.
The little girl who sang Taylor is 11....she was charming and adorable.
over the moon.....C;mon now....

I have nothing against her as a person, I just think it was poor song choice--especially after hearing Kristin Chenoweth's version. I would have selected a song for her that has equal "adorable" value but was not performed by someone with a voice like Kristin.
I preferred the girl's (sorry, I really don't know her name) voice in The Secret Garden, although I didn't really like her there, either. I'm not saying she doesn't have training or talent, I'm saying I'm not a fan of her voice.
Was it sold out?
Pictures would be nice
Hey there
Thanks so much to everyone who joined us last night for the EMBRACE! Concert! It was a big success, sold-out and raised some great money for a great organization.
I don't want to go through how amazing each individual performer is, but suffice it to say, as always, it was an honor and pleasure to work with each and every one of them. Seth was a fantastic host for the event and the band, lead my music director Mark Hartman was spot on.
Thanks to the staff, and all else who volunteered their time and energy towards the event!
See yall next year!
Jamie

Isn't Cowboy Take Me Away from Urban Cowboy?
The opening number was sung by Michael Cunio, Ryan Leeds, Chelsea Krombach and Kate Pazakis and was the opening song, BECOME, from EDGES by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul...
Keep an eye out for the NY Professional Premiere of EDGES, happening at Joe's Pub in May...more info on that later.

awesome concert of some truly talented people singing some beautiful, and sometimes funny, silly songs in a very relaxed and fun atmosphere (yeah, Seth!...and all for a good cause...doesn't get much better...(though it did seem that pin stripes were the uniform of the evening for the guys). Fun night.
