"Directed by former Encores! artistic director Walter Bobbie, Nanette will feature the previously announced Rosie O'Donnell as Pauline and Tony winner Beth Leavel as Lucille Early. Joining the duo onstage will be Sandy Duncan as Sue Smith, Fred Willard as Jimmy Smith, Shonn Wiley as Tom and Mara Davi as Nanette.

Randy Skinner will choreograph the production with musical direction by Rob Fisher." Updated On: 11/17/07 at 01:04 PM

Sounds amazing! I love this show given the type of show it is and when it was originally produced.

All the women cast seem more than appropriate for their parts and very promising!

Who'd have guessed Fred Willard?! Love the idea.

And who's playing Billy Early?!

Now when are they going to announce the APPLAUSE cast? I thought they would have announced it before the NO, NO, NANETTE cast.

I was kind of hoping for Mara Davi to play Eve Harrington in "Applause," but I am glad to see her in this too.

FolkyBoy,

Tickets for Encores subscribers were mailed out a few weeks ago. PM me, and I can look into it when I get to work on Monday.

I got my season tickets 2 weeks ago. You should get them shortly!

Next stop Broadway! I do hope that they have Donald Saddler as some sort of Choreographic adviser. His choreography for the 70's revival was magic (and it won him a Tony too).

Ray, I thought the same thing.

Sandy Duncan is perfect for the role of Sue. APPLAUSE isn't much of a show, I think there is more interest in NANETTE, and they have their star for APPLAUSE in Christine Ebersole.

You're probably right, but I would still rather know in chronological order.

That may just be my neuroses speaking.

Well, I think APPLAUSE is a pretty mediocre show and Ebersole is not enough to get me to buy tickets so I need them to announce more casting to decide whether I want to see the show or not.
If Erin Davie, Annie Hathaway, Anika Noni Rose, or someone of that sorts ends up playing Eve Harrington, I'll definitely head there come February. That's why I'm a bit impatient about the press release about the casting.
Same thing happened last year with FOLLIES, when Clark was announced I wasn't convinced, the second I learned Donna Murphy had been cast, I went online and got a ticket.
