I'm planning a trip to NYC soon early next year. When is the best time to go after the holiday crowds have left? When the theatres are suffering low houses after the holidays? Is early February good enough?

Feb is good for fewer crowds and ticket availability, but very cold!!

also depends what show. Wicked is sold out through the whole year even in feb. and same with lion king, jersey boys, and maybe mary poppins

Strange. I just started a similar thread without seeing this one.

Cold doesn't bother me. I'm just trying to avoid the crowds. And being one person, it's always easy to get into any show...pretty much.

Lol, as I just answered luvsong's thread. Colleges go back the 3rd and 4th weeks of Jan. After that its mostly dead till mid March when new shows start rolling in.

Cool. Then it'll be a great time to go. I went last year between Christmas and New Year's and it was ok, but too many people! I'd rather have more choices at the TKTS booth before I pay full price for the more popular ones. Plus, there are some friends of mine in shows that I really want to see.
