You kind of made it more exposed and out there by starting a thread. Honestly no matter how bad the first episode back it some people with think it is the greatest thing ever

I don't like this show, and don't watch it.
HOWEVER, I do think it's kind of . . . well, 'interesting' . . . to bash something that at least on some level promotes musical entertainment and something other than cops/death/violence/macabre nonsense on public television - especially on a theater board.
And then I look at the source . . .
Oh.

Quality still trumps content, I guess.

I don't think "Glee" is the greatest show ever, but I still watch it and support the TV show, because, yes, it promotes musical theater. If "Glee" helps more young people become interested in musical theater, then it is a good thing (regardless of the quality of the show itself).
Trace, I completely agree.
Plus their covers of songs are so fun!
Yes, I own both CDs that Glee has released and I enjoy them. I look forward to the third CD with Madonna songs.
^^
i got them for Christmas after having watched the show several times. smiling like that and playing one was excellent acting on my part.
i am sure they had a summer preview before it was "popular" (like they had done with Melrose Place years and years before.) I remember mentioning it and no one knew what the hell i was talking about until it became mainstrean then i hear "have you seen this show GLEE?" "yeah...i told you about it last summer". i don't think there were very many episodes.

as much as i love GLEE and even Modern Family... i think the true breakout show that needs all the attention is Parks and Recreation!! The first season was only six episodes and it was eh... but in its second season it has just become this wonderful ensemble show that hearkens back to the first few seasons of The Office... this show has truly transformed into something that deserves more of an audience and more attention!
I'll say again what my issue with Glee is.
As a concept I like it
As a cast I like it
But the songs.......
Why in 2010 do the songs sound so 'fake' almost like if someone else is doing the singing?
Is it that some of the cast can't really sing live so they have to 'tune' them.
I hate that there is such a hute difference in the people's voices when a song cuts in.
Since you don't like talking about Glee you thought it was a smart idea to start a new thread about hating glee which will just keep people talking about Glee. I don't get why people just don't ignore the threads they don't like instead of complaining about people talking about subjects that they don't like. Some people on this board like Glee. I don't see why they should have to stop talking about it just because you and maybe a few others are annoyed by it.

YES! One of the funniest shows on television along with Better Off Ted. Glee is "cute" and "clever", but I'm not crazy about it and when the plot starts running in circles the first season, you know it's going to be an uphill climb to sustain. Just ask Ugly Betty, knocked out in its fourth season and I'd be surprised if Glee could hang in that long.
