Is the Canadian Actors Equity, and the American Actors Equity the same? I am from Canada and hope to take my acting further in the future (try for roles in America one day) will it differ if I have a CAE card?

I'm fairly certain they are not interchangeable...but I'm sure that info is on their website, or just a quick call away.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I believe they're not the same, but as long as you can legally work in the US, I'm sure you wouldn't have much of an issue joining American Equity. Caissie Levy is Canadian and she's doing just fine.
