How is he? I had no idea that he was even in it until I read it on IBDB. I'm a big fan of his. Is his role small?

I am kind of surprised that he is in the show at all -
Spoke with him after "MOLM" closed, and he basically said he was "retiring" and couldnt wait to play golf in Henderson.

Testing - you know what they say about actors. They retire for 5 minutes and get bored. He's done a few shows since LaMancha closed.
NLS - he's on stage, as D2 said, for 5 minutes and then (spoilers) dies.

True.... I think some of it was said in anger (well, as angry as he can get-he is an incredibly kind man!) After the last "MOLM" show, he took my wife and I backstage, (and onstage) and let us stay for quite awhile. He then spoke with a few people, and got us invited to the cast party. Its something that we will never forget.
The "La Mancha" cast was upset at the time with what they considered an "abrupt" closing.
But he was really looking forward to the warm weather in LV-
you're right, Yankee.... he must have gotten bored.

I don't know, I'd come to NY to do a "miniscule role" in a brand-new Broadway show that had hit potential. I'm sure he must have had another offer out there, tv or film.
I'm also sure Sabella is getting a hefty paycheck for that five minutes! Nice job, but he's earned it.

Here's a long link to a short interview article with Mr. Sabella. He discusses how he came to be with Curtains and there's a great pic too.

BTW - Journal News has a multi-part series of articles that follows CURTAINS progress from L.A.to Broadway. It's an enjoyable series of articles, check it out while you're there, I think y'all will enjoy it.

Posted: 3/17/07 at 9:52pmI loved Ernie in Man of La Mancha. He does have a small part in Curtins. But he is always good. I just saw Curtins today. Cute show. David Hyde Pierce and Edward Hibbard are hilarious.

5 minutes!? That sucks. But, glad to hear he is great in it! Anyone meet him at the stage door afterward?
Anyone else see his Master Card commercial as the elephant washer who gets sick? Very cute commercial.
