Hey Bundy the more times you see it the less perplexing it gets. You may have to see it a couple more times.

Shows how good the music is too courtnyj. Nobody seems to be able to decide what songs are the most Kander and Ebb or which are standouts. I thought several songs were standouts. I need the CD. I can't get "It's a Business" out of my head.

I'm so gld you enjoyed it Bundy! I thought it was fantastic as well. Did you think the First Act took some time to get going? Not that it wasn't funny, but it just didn't have the pace of the Second Act. What'd you think? Oh and of course--how'd your mom like it?

Thanks for the link!

It's great to get the actors and actresses perspectives on their characters and their show. What fun! Almost as much fun as Curtains.

I don't care what anybody says--I loved it and I'll keep going back. The bottom line is $$$$, as long as Curtains makes money, it will stay right where it is. Look at Wicked (if you must) I believe it opened to mixed reviews and it's flying high. I always look at reviews as one man or woman's opinion. Last night I didn't hear anyone grumbling, I saw a lot of happy, satisfied people.

BTW--The Journal News is way off base IMO.

re: What Do You Think of Hank Azaria in Curtains?

Tony Danza? Egads! Azaria...I like him but I don't think he could pull this one off.

re: CURTAINS, Like an Irresistible Lover
 Mar 21 2007, 06:26:22 PM
I'll be there tomorrow night as well! This will be the 3rd time I'm seeing it in NY. I saw it 3 times in L.A. and I'm seeing it at least two times more after tomorrow night. I think I'm hopelessly addicted!

re: Katurian's CURTAINS Review

He can handle it D2. When they were doing the show in L.A., Rupert Holmes did an interview in which he said he couldn't believe David's physical conditioning. David has been Kick Boxing for years for exercise and conditioning and has even given private lessons for charity. The last private lesson went for $500 to an AIDS Program I believe. He has an incredible amount of energy, which he's gonna need for this show!

re: Emcee on THE PIRATE QUEEN and CURTAINS

WOW!! Now there's a review! Well thought out and informative. Nothing I can add. I can only say, I agree on almost all of your points, and the ones I don't agree on...well I never gave any thought.

Thanks Emcee.

re: Company or Curtains?
 Mar 18 2007, 11:30:05 AM
"I'm not sure why people think Company is a musical where you must "cry"..."

I didn't mean to insinuate that Company was deary or depressing, far from it. I didn't cry either, but there were people in the audience that were crying. I did like Company and thought it a fine show. My personal preference is a "Curtains" type musical and I like falling-out-of-your-seat, laugh-out-loud moments and Curtains did that for me. No offense to all Company fans, I would never want to insult your pref

You're welcome!

There's a bunch of interviews and articles listed on the official Curtains Website:

Click on 'News' and there's a list of maybe a dozen or more.

Here's a long link to a short interview article with Mr. Sabella. He discusses how he came to be with Curtains and there's a great pic too.

BTW - Journal News has a multi-part series of articles that follows CURTAINS progress from L.A.to Broadway. It's an enjoyable series of articles, check it out while you're there, I think y'all will enjoy it.
