I didn't want to start a new thread for this, but Esparza's leading a discussion on The Count of Monte Cristo tomorrow afternoon at 12:30 in Bryant Park. It's going to be miserable AND the All-Star Parade is starting at Bryant Park at 1, but if anyone is interested in going...
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

It was actually pleasant under the trees, and the MLB parade was the other side of Bryant Park. About 70 people showed up, and Raul displayed a serious love of the book. He spent significant time signing, talking and taking pictures afterwards, so a lot of people went away with memories. The questions were varied - I really prefer a book club where the book itself is the focus rather than "What I think" by the questioners but that so rarely happens.
