I just got back from seeing Euan Morton live at the Birdland. Once again, this man has stolen my heart. His voice is godly, his anecdotes hysterical, and his appearance... well, that speaks for itself :)

I thoroughly enjoyed myself. If you ever have a chance, go see this man in concert, it's worth the money.

Some special songs included- Poetic Judgement, Petrified, *Two Weeks*, and Halleluja.

Some special guests included- Liz McCartney, Kelli O'Donnell, Margo Lion, and the little boy from Mary Poppins :)

I hold a degree in Musical Theatre from Montclair State University. It is useless. Now I'm funny for money. Oh, and I sing.

I too spent the night at Birdland, lucky enough to do both shows. I agree with everything Taboofan1 has said.

Euan started the second show with "I'm a Sensation" from Tommy.
Half way through he ripped open the snaps on his shirt
(a very rock star move !!) and when he was done singing he said he bought that shirt so he could do that!!! And that's the kind of night it was!!! The second show was different, he didn't have the beatles cover but he did do Carpenters, which are his favorite. Also instead of Petrified he did Stranger In This World with just an acoustic guitar accompaniment.
I will wait for someone who got more sleep to post a real set list.

2nd show special guests included Steven Schwartz, Jamie DeRoy,
Scott and Barbara Siegel

Sounds like an amazing concert! If I only lived in New York...

It was a great night. Had so much fun, and him doing Petrified was just amazing. Loved it. My new favorite song is Poetic Justice now.

Sounds great. Petrified would have been great to hear by him, having heard Raul doing it many times....

Great voice!

His version of Petrified was amazing! Well, all of his songs were amazing, but that one in particular stuck out for me...

I really wish I'd been able to stay for the second show, but I had a train to catch re: Euan Morton at the Birdland

Oh well, I'll go to the next show!

PS:Liz McCartney, when I spoke to her, said she might have some upcoming gigs as well! Keep posted at www.liz-mccartney.com :P

Beautiful...it was simply beautiful. I love his new stuff. I was invited to stay for the second set, but I too, had a train to catch. GRRR...soo close to breaking into work and sleeping on the floor to catch the second set. Do you know if he sang that lullybe song on his CD during the second set. I love that one!

Can't wait to see him live again.

Oooh, he did Petrified? He's one of few people other than Raul that I would want to hear sing it.

There is A lullaby on NewClear, however, since I do not own it (I know, I'm a bad fan...) I'm not sure if it's the same one. You can check out the song list for his cd on his website www.officiallyeuanmorton.com.
