Evil Dead LIVES!!
Evil Dead LIVES!!#1
Posted: 3/22/07 at 11:52amEvil Dead isn't....well, dead I suppose. I got word off their Myspace page that the production is going to reopen in Toronto. Don't know all the details but visit their myspace to find out. Myspace.com/evildeadthemusical, I'm definitly gonna have to make the trip up to see it again. I wonder if they'll bring in an all canadian cast? Seems likely since Canadian Actors Equity has pretty stringent laws to protect jobs for canadian actors. Either way it'll be a blast and I'm glad to see it's not dead and burried, if you'll excuse the pun.

I suppose, then, that the release date for the CD isn't in March, anymore. Guess it is 4/24.
I wonder if this is the actual track list, minus all the spelling/typo errors:

It starts previews May 1st and opens May 8 at the Diesel Playhouse. Runs through June 23 as of right now.
Christopher Bond returns to direct and Ryan Ward will reprise Ash.
Auditions are this week in Toronto for a Canadian cast.

Yeah it's 4/24 now. The funny thing is, they just pushed it up exactly a month and made no mention of it whatsoever. Just kept pushing it like it was the street date all along. No matter, I'm still getting it as soon as it streets. And is "Groovy" a bonus track? Something that was cut from the original production?
Thanks for the extra info Tag. Stupid Canadian Equity, especially when I live 2 hours from toronto.

Based on some of the other tracks, I'm going to say they recorded some of the "famous" lines from the show - like "boomstick" and "groovy."
The only song that was cut from the show (minus all the lyrical changes made for the better) was the finale - which found Ash back in Medieval times, as in the third movie, I believe.

Posted: 3/22/07 at 1:22pmInteresting, the 24th can't come soon enough. I gotta get my hands on the original show just to see how it changed, even if it's bad, it's bound to be interesting. Live on Evil Dead! Live on!

Posted: 3/22/07 at 1:27pmlol yeah yeah I know. That was honestly said more in jest than anything. I totally understand and respect why they protect their actors like that. I just really want to live and work in Toronto theatre.
