Does anyone who has seen the current EVITA tour know what days of the week Desi Oakley has gone on as the alternate Eva? I'm particularly interested in the current Cincinnati performances, if known.

There have been exceptions, but Desi almost always performs the Saturday matinee and Sunday evening.

That is correct. Also, Katerina Papacostas has recently joined the company as the new Eva understudy.

Does anyone know if this tour comes to Canada? Some "national" tours do.

^ Whatever you do, don't check the tour website. I doubt they would have it there.

I saw the tour last night in DC and really liked this production (I also saw the original production in 1980). I thought Caroline Bowman made an excellent Eva, and I'm thinking of going Sunday night to see Desi Oakley. Has anyone here seen her in the role? Your thoughts? Thanks.

Josh Young is no longer Che (I was looking forward to seeing him). Although Max Quinlan has a beautiful voice, his Che had absolutely no edge.

Che in the staging, is not supposed to have any edge, so good for him. LOL.
Sigh.. Bad reconception...

^Thanks! Just found out today that the tour wraps up in DC. Wonder if Desi Oakley will get the final performance as she usually does the Sunday evening performances, or if she and Caroline will switch that day.

I saw Desi when I saw the production and thought she was wonderful. I felt like she really didn't break through as the character until act 2, but she really was wonderful. I'm glad I got to see Josh Young when I did, he was a phenomenal Che.

A friend of mine saw Desi in Philly and was really unimpressed with her. She said vocally she's just not a powerhouse and doesn't really belt a lot of it. I haven't seen her myself, but just thought I would offer an opposing view.

I saw the final performance of the tour last night, and just like I suspected, Caroline Bowman played Eva (as opposed to Desi). On second viewing, I really enjoyed this production, especially Caroline.

I loved the choreography and some of the new arrangements. The one thing I missed was the original tenor line in the "Salve Regina" during the Requiem at the beginning.

Max Quinlan was much better as Che this time around and seemed at lot more at ease.

This production more made up for the horrible tour of this show that passed through DC several years ago.
