Nice article. Outdoor theater is an adventure indeed. I've also done Twelfth Night outdoors. Trying to be heard over ambulence sirens and other traffic (not to mention trying to keep my eyes open with the blinding sun beating down on us) was certainly a new challenge. I also spent this past summer watching our poor Cyrano de Bergerac struggling to compete with airplanes coming down towards O'Hare--often during the play's most dramatic moments. Performing in the rain was also interesting (we cancelled a show half-way through the performance when lightening appeared).
BTW, what play is the thread title from again? Isn't it some famous stage direction that no one ever follows?

The Royal Shakespeare Company. I can't wait to see it live, the photos make it look SERIOUSLY stunning.

I hear the Central Park raccoons have gotten more mischievous lately.
There was one wandering around near the booth and under people's seats the night I saw The Bacchae. People went crazy.
