Fame may have appealed to YOU, and I certainly don't want to make it sound like you're not entitled to like it, love it, or obsess over it. However, to say it only appealed to a group composed of teens who want to be actors is simply not true. Like I said, I'm a drama major, I attended an arts h/s, I obviously want to pursue theatre, and of the 300+ shows I've seen, Fame was awful. The book is awful, the songs are awful, the sets weren't even good. I'm not one to diss shows, truly I'm not. I've sat through some pretty bad shows over the years, including Fame. I always try to find something positive about a show. But I still say that Fame was and is a horrible show. And I'm basing this on the professional production I saw not a h/s or community theatre show. If you love Fame, buy the movie. It's a fabulous movie. It's a shame that the tv show and the musical have to be associated with it.

I personaly think Fame is fine. Although, I have not seen the movie or show. I've only listend to the CD of the 42 street cast.

sara took over for caren lyn manuel in bklyn.
The night my brother saw FAME , he said people in the audience were actually heckling it out loud. Even if a show isn't wonderful, I find that to be very rude.

Here's what people were saying based on the 2003 Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade.

Wow guys! I only saw FAME once and I'm sorry I said it was on Broadway if it was only on 42nd street (they're both amazing if you ask me)!!
I thought that the characters were really well done and I loved the understudy that I saw when I was there (for Mike Piazza)!!! I loved seeing FAME. And whoever said it, I believe you're right that it does appeal to a certain group of people only. And I'm glad to be included in that group
