"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Sad but true, no big surprise here.

"All I ask of you is one thing: please don't be cynical. I hate cynicism -- it's my least favorite quality and it doesn't lead anywhere. Nobody in life gets exactly what they thought they were going to get. But if you work really hard and you're kind, amazing things will happen." Conan O'Brien

Thank God - lets make room for some new blood on Broadway!

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" I don't care what you all think,
but FAME is the BEST off-broadway show!!

Go to famefanatics.com to see how many fans FAME on 42nd Street have!

That's not the way to say goodbye to a great show.

I enjoyed the show, but it was far from great. I also prefered the original cast to the replacements currently in it.

I saw FAME... it was written way back in the 90's and it's taken until 2004 to get OFF-BROADWAY... this show is horrible, and should never be revived for any purpose so help me lord!

UGH WHAT AN AWFUL SHOW-- I'd watch A Little Night Music or Anything Goes before I would watch Fame again!!!!!!! EVER!!!!

It's not good, but it's not horrible. It's mediocre. I'm sad to see it go, but I knew it was going to happen sometime soon.

Yeah, it's pretty bad. I saw the tour when it stopped by Toronto years ago. I couldn't believe how awful it was - I was in a state of perpetual cringe. They didn't even perform the title song in the show, it was tacked on as a stupid encore. The show felt like it was written by 14-year olds.

It had a good run. The cast is very talented. I think they'll go pretty far. Shakiem Evans is on the Mamma Mia! tour and from what I heard, he's friggin' awesome (cowboy hat and all!).

I saw the original North American cast with Gavin Creel and Jennifer Gambatese in the leads. The show was dreadful, but I sat through it three times for Gavin Creel.

Yes, I am pitiful.
