So.... they've been having auditions... and now I hear they're having an out of town try out in Cleveland headed for Broadway... but I haven't heard any official announcements or anything. Anyone know what's going on? I saw this at NYMF a couple years ago and LOVED it..... hope it makes it all the way.
any word?

i dont think there are any set plans yet. right now the plan is to do the run in cleveland and see how it goes, and they are certainly aiming it for broadway. there is no theater booked, though. but they have the right producers and creatives attached to make that transfer possible. so, hoping it is warmly received and they have the right kind of buzz surrounding it, a transfer in the next season or two will become a reality.
hope it does happen!

It seems like just about every musical is "Broadway bound" or however the press release spins it...
The truth is, few show end up getting anywhere close to Broadway.
I wish any musical the best on it's trajectory in the theater, but the regional production and it's subsequent level of success will have more say about it's Broadway potential.

I completely disagree with that Crybaby and Catered affair got killed out of town and it still came in.
Out of town reviews apparently mean nothing. If there are producers with money who want to bring it in, it will find a theater.
Also, I would imagine with how much money the DODGERS have from Jersey boys and the money from the ROCK OF AGES producers also, they can probably do anything they want.

It's part of Playhouse Square's page to stage program where they invite artists to try their shows out and get feedback from audience and participating members to make the show better before it leaves essentially. www.playhousesquare.org has more info!
