After the publication of Ted Chapin's diary/memoir EVERYTHING WAS POSSIBLE, I remember rumors about a possible FOLLIES movie based on that centered around the creation of the musical going back and forth from the onstage production and the "behind the scenes" development (I'm guessing sort of like Mike Leigh's TOPSY-TURVY about the making of Gilbert & Sullivan's THE MIKADO). Feel like even Michael Riedel had a reference to Catherine Zeta-Jones as Yvonne De Carlo as Carlotta Campion. I don't ever recall hearing whose idea it actually was, but definitely sounds the same as Condon's vision (will definitely be checking out the podcast interview later)!
