FOR THOSE WHO HAVEN'T SEE MAMMA MIA

I find it fitting to post on this board.

Mamma Mia is a like a world gay pride parade after the legalization of gay marriage, the resurrection of Judy Garland, the election of Liza Minelli as President (Idina Menzel as Vice President and Cheyenne Jackson as secretary of state). As the parade is grande jete'ing down the Castro District in San Francisco, Divine, Hedda Lettuce and RuPaul show up with every person that has ever gone to Musical Mondays at Splash and they all throw up rainbow, glitter and cosmopolitans.

That's how gay the movie is and I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT.

The audience at the Union Square theater did the wave during the finale and honestly could not stop laughing the entire movie. I've never had so much fun at a movie.

Tombe pas de burreeeee glissade assemble chinne chinne Grande Jete to your local cinema and see this movie.

Looking forward to this film, but have to wait 2-3 weeks after opening. My discount tickets won't be use-able until then.

Most discount tix are good starting the 2nd Monday... (well, most.)

PS- Regal Cinemas doesn't have MM marked as a "No Passes" movie. I was able to use "rewards" passes for it. Not sure about other chains.

PPS- Very funny: "...and they all throw up rainbow, glitter and cosmopolitans."

AMC Theatres are taking passes as well....

Took my daughter to "Dark Knight" the day before so excuse my cheapness.

This may be one of the ultimate "put your brain on hold" movies, but I thought it worked best during the quiet moments...i.e. "Slipping Through My Fingers," "The Winner Takes It All" and "When All is Said and Done." Otherwise, even within the context of campy escapism, I thought it strained too hard to be fun.

I disagree a little...As a gay, I for one was hoping it would be all those things that the OP suggest it is..but it ain't. It could have been way more gay. I even thought to myself, this is what straight people think gay people want.
